Last season's champions, Real Madrid, pay a visit to Cádiz with La Liga title race virtually settled

Real Madrid will be traveling to Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla to face the 15th-placed Cádiz team, following their convincing 2-0 win over Chelsea in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final earlier this week.
However, with only ten games remaining in the La Liga season, Madrid's chances of defending their title seem almost impossible as they currently trail behind league leaders Barcelona by 13 points. Their recent 3-2 loss against Villarreal at home further highlights their inconsistent performance in the league since the World Cup.
Real Madrid missed out on a chance to close the gap to 10 points against Barcelona last weekend, as they suffered a defeat against Quique Setien's men, while the Catalans secured a goalless draw against Girona a day later.
Sergio González's Cádiz team has managed to stay above the relegation zone by grinding out results. The team has collected seven points in their last five games, which is a decent record for a team that has only earned 31 points in 28 games and is currently four points above 18th-placed Valencia.
Cádiz has given Real Madrid several problems since earning promotion to La Liga in the 2020-21 season. In fact, they have faced the 35-time league winner five times in La Liga since then, winning once, drawing twice, and losing twice. Cádiz will take confidence from the fact that they have not allowed Madrid to dominate this fixture in the last three years.
The confirmed lineups for the Cádiz versus Real Madrid match are as follows:
Cádiz XI (4-4-2): D. Gil; Parra, L. Hernández, Fali, Espino; Bongonda, Fede San Emeterio, Alcaraz, Sobrino; Guardiola, C. Ramos
Real Madrid XI (4-2-3-1): Courtois; Lucas, Militão, Rüdiger, Nacho; Tchouaméni, Ceballos; Valverde, Asensio, Rodrygo; Benzema
